Cinema Rex: A Promised Revival

Following up on my last post about Cinema Rex—once a glamorous theater, now a forgotten gem. Opened in 1933, it dazzled with a starry-sky ceiling and Moorish decor. Over time, modernization stripped its charm, and by the 2000s, it was abandoned. But there’s hope! Ghent is restoring it into a ‘House of Cinema,’ just in time for its 2030 European Capital of Culture bid. Exciting times ahead for this piece of history!
