Circle Journey Through the Bund Tunnel: My Most Viewed Picture on Flickr in 2024

4/12/2024

With 2024 coming to a close, it’s time for reflection and year-end lists. Today, I’m sharing my most liked image on Flickr this year: 'Circle Journey: Through the Bund Tunnel.'

This photo has a backstory. I captured it in May 2017 during a business trip to Shanghai. Earlier this year, in March, I revisited the image, reprocessing it in black and white before posting it on Flickr.

The photo offers a surreal view from inside the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel in Shanghai. As the train moves through, the tunnel's unique lighting creates mesmerizing circles, giving the scene an abstract, almost otherworldly feel.
