Rusty-tipped Beauty

​Spotted this butterfly—most likely a Siproeta epaphus, or Rusty-tipped Page—while exploring the cloud forest near Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador.

I'm not a butterfly expert, but they're incredibly photogenic. I had to dig a bit to find the name of this one, so I apologize if I got it wrong!

Its rich orange tones and bold wing patterns stood out beautifully against the green. The tiny white dots nearby might even be eggs—possibly laid just moments before this photo was taken.

​Subtle Wings, Big Beauty

​I spotted another butterfly near Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador's cloud forest—very different from the bold one I posted earlier. This one has soft, brownish wings, elegant lines, and a more understated appearance.

It's probably part of the same butterfly family, but it shows how much contrast there can be—even in the same place. Not every butterfly grabs attention with bright colors—some blend in quietly and still feel special in their own way.
It could be a bit like people. Not everyone needs to stand out to be appreciated—some are just naturally nice to be around. 

(And if I got the butterfly ID wrong—my apologies! I'm no expert, just someone who enjoys observing and sharing these moments.)
