Dolomites in Monochrome - A personal take on A classic landscape

The Dolomites are celebrated for their dramatic shapes, shifting light, and natural color palette — but for this series, I chose to take a different approach. Back home, while curating the images, I began experimenting with black-and-white conversions.

What started as a small test quickly evolved into a creative direction. Inspired by classic analog techniques, I exaggerated the contrast and treated these scenes as though they were shot through an orange filter on film.

This isn’t about postcard perfection; it’s about texture, atmosphere, and a more personal impression of places that are already photographed so often. Whether it’s the sharp ridgeline of Seceda or the towering presence of the Drei Zinnen, the absence of color invites the eye to focus on form, light, and emotion.
