Frønningen's Secluded Charms Amidst UNESCO Fjords

One morning, we boarded a ferry, departing from Kaupanger en route to Gudvangen, all set to explore the renowned Nærøyfjorden. Renowned for its natural splendour, this fjord boasts towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and lush greenery along its shores. Within this esteemed World Heritage Area, two sub-areas stand out: Geirangerfjord and Nardufjord, both recognized as classic exemplars of fjord landscapes. This photograph captures the quaint village of Frønningen, taken as we entered the Aurlandsfjord, which is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The uniqueness of this village lies in its complete lack of road connections. Accessible only by boat, it stands as a remote enclave. – Nærøyfjorden, Vestland, Norway.
