Ghent’s Iconic Skyline from Sint-Michielshelling - version 2

I know—it’s cliché. The Sint-Michielshelling is probably the most photographed spot in Ghent—captured at sunrise, sunset, bright daylight, and maybe even during a thunderstorm with lightning flashing in the background. But as I biked over the bridge yesterday morning, I couldn’t resist. The light, the silence, the city waking up—it was too perfect not to capture again.

From this iconic bridge, you get one of the best views of Ghent’s medieval skyline. On the left, the old Post Office building stands proudly with its fairytale-like architecture. In the distance, the city’s famous trio of towers—St. Nicholas’ Church, the Belfry, and St. Bavo’s Cathedral—create a skyline that never gets old, no matter how many times you see it.
