Morning Calm at Warsaw's Historic Castle Square

Early one rainy morning in Warsaw, I headed out to take pictures of Castle Square and the Old Town. The day before, it was packed with tourists, making it nearly impossible to get any good shots. This is one of the first photos I took that morning. A little bit about Castle Square (Plac Zamkowy): it’s a historic square in front of the Royal Castle, the former residence of Polish monarchs. The square features Sigismund's Column, erected in 1644 to honor King Sigismund III Vasa, who moved the capital from Krakow to Warsaw. In the photo, you can see the beautifully reconstructed Royal Castle on the left, and the colorful townhouses of the UNESCO-protected Old Town on the right. Early in the morning, especially after the rain, the square feels peaceful and reflective—perfect for postcard-worthy shots – Warsaw, Poland
