Tourist Guides at Praça do Rossio

Praça do Rossio, officially known as Praça Dom Pedro IV, is a vibrant square located in the heart of Lisbon. This historic site has been a gathering place since the Middle Ages and features its famous wave-patterned black-and-white pavement, which pays homage to the city’s maritime heritage. At the center of the square stands a statue of Dom Pedro IV, surrounded by beautiful fountains imported from France. One end of the square is dominated by the grand D. Maria II National Theatre, while the stunning Neo-Manueline Rossio Station is located nearby. The area buzzes with locals, tourists, and street performers.

During my visit, I met two friendly tourist guides standing under white umbrellas who kindly posed for a photo with me .
