Visitor’s Digest is my daily photo column. Sometimes it's one picture, other times a set — always with short notes about place, light, timing, or a personal detail. It’s my way of documenting the world around me, from city streets to coastal towns, in a simple and reflective way.

Traveling south from Lofoten, we reached Trondheim, a city situated on the south shore of Trondheim Fjord, where the River Nidelva flows into the sea. Though Trondheim has a population of just over 200,000, it's the third-largest city in Norway and holds historical significance as the country's former capital from the Viking Age until 1217. During our stroll through the city center and nearby areas, we were impressed by a few standout features. First, there was the Nidaros Cathedral, a medieval landmark well-known in Trondheim and an essential pilgrimage site in Northern Europe. It was built over several centuries and boasts impressive Gothic architecture. Next to it, you have the Archbishop's Palace and Museum. As we passed by, there were plenty of fun activities for children going on, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the city. And, of course, I should not forget to mention the charming wooden houses along the banks of River Nidelva and Bakklandet, a lovely neighborhood with narrow streets and cozy cafes. On display is maybe not such an obvious view of Trondheim. The photograph was taken from the Trondheim Marina, where the city is undergoing a transformation with the construction of new apartments and office buildings, blending modernity with the city's historical charm – Trondheim, Trøndelag county, Norway
