10 May 2020 Update from A Locked Down Ghent

Yesterday a further fall in the numbers was announced. Both the number of deaths and patients hospitalized stayed well under 100.  Despite scientists are convinced that a second wave of infections is highly likely, we are, as of today, allowed to increase the number of people in our lockdown bubble with 4. Also, from Monday shops selling non-essential food will reopen and contact traces will start calling those that have been in contact with someone that has tested positive for the virus. To ensure social distancing is maintained in the main shopping streets one-way systems for shoppers have been introduced in Ghent. The city also placed a hand sanitizing station in the city center to ensure proper hand hygiene compliance. It shouldn’t get any crazier… Kalandeberg, Ghent, Belgium.
