This blog is about life as it unfolds around me. What I’m seeing, hearing or reading is sometimes beautiful, surreal, ugly, paradoxical and complex. It’s a little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing but I hope it’s unique in its own right.

Yesterday’s figures contained some encouraging news with the number of COVID-19 patients on intensive care wards having fallen below 500 for the first time since 24 March. Nevertheless, 75 people were reported to have died from COVID-19.
This brings the total number of fatalities in Belgium to 8,656. Also, a further 83 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital. The worst appears to be behind us, however, I view the relaxation of the lockdown measures with trepidation. I do of course understand why the measures are being relaxed. Everyone needs human contact and wants to bring a little bit of normality back into their lives. Most people now know how the virus is passed on and how they can prevent this, still with the re-opening of non-essential shops and the relaxation of the social contact I’m a little bit afraid and hope that people will be careful. Stay safe, stay healthy! – Zonnestraat, Ghent, Belgium.

"Photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with how you see them."

    About Me

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
