16 May 2020 Update from A Locked Down Ghent

Yesterday’s figures show a further fall in the number of deaths from COVID-19 and a fall in the number of patients that have contracted the virus that are being cared for in Belgian hospitals. Only 67 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospital and 56 deaths have been reported. The biggest news event yesterday was the partially reopening of the schools. A big day for many thousands of schoolchildren who are returning to school for the first time since 13 March.
