This blog is about life as it unfolds around me. What I’m seeing, hearing or reading is sometimes beautiful, surreal, ugly, paradoxical and complex. It’s a little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing but I hope it’s unique in its own right.

Yesterday’s corona figures reached new lows. 28 deaths were recorded, down from 47 the previous day and 43 patients were hospitalised with COVID-19 compared to 60 the day before. Amid a continuing fall in coronavirus cases, Belgium hit the world press with images of healthcare professionals turning their back to prime minister Sophie Wilmès visiting Hospital Saint-Pierre in Brussels. The silent protest was staged to call for increased acknowledgement of their efforts and against a decree to recruit unqualified staff to carry out nursing activities. In general there is a growing dissatisfaction among healthcare workers over the government’s handling of the coronavirus crisis exacerbated by serious underfunding of the social security system. All of this proof one thing: it’s time that politicians put their differences aside to join forces to get the country back on track. Noodling on all of this I continue to wander through the city hoping pictures will find me – Walpoortstraat, Ghent, Belgium

"Photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with how you see them."

    About Me

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
