23 May 2021: The reproduction rate of the coronavirus in Belgium last week dropped to below 0.90 and remained stable at 0.88 for the last two days. It has now gone up to 0.93. This means that the epidemic is still shrinking in Belgium, however, not at the same pace as the previous days. During the week from 12 to 18 May an average of 2,210 people tested positive for coronavirus each day. This is down 16% on the average for the previous week. This brings the incidence, which indicates the average number of new cases per day per 100,000 inhabitants, to 299.8. On Friday, a total of 1,612 people were in hospital as a result of the coronavirus, of whom 540 people were being treated in intensive care. In summary, the covid figures keep improving but the virus keeps on circulating and the more contagious Indian variant is gaining ground. Despite that we are not yet out of the woods William continues to have the time of his life… - Citadelpark, Ghent, Belgium.
