The Covid-19 pandemic is still in its climbing phase in Belgium, as the peak of the outbreak is only expected in the coming weeks, around the beginning of April the crisis center announced. Yesterday the government reported that 1,298 new people have tested positive for Covid-19. This brings the total number of cases to 6,235. The total number of people admitted to hospital is 2,652, this is an increase of 536 patients in one day! 42 new deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 220. We rigorously follow the measures that have been implemented and hang in there hoping for better times. The Financial Times praised Belgium with its daily briefings by the Crisis Centre underlining the fact that in Belgium it are scientists rather than politicians speaking. It’s indeed the only way to debunk rumors and conspiracy theories. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy! - Ghent, Belgium
