This blog is about life as it unfolds around me. What I’m seeing, hearing or reading is sometimes beautiful, surreal, ugly, paradoxical and complex. It’s a little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing but I hope it’s unique in its own right.

29 September 2020: Update on The Corona Pandemic – The Netherlands now considers all of Belgium an orange travel zone, meaning it advises against all non-essential trips to the country. In addition, anyone who travels to the Netherlands and has been in the Brussels-Capital Region, the city of Antwerp, and a couple of other areas in Belgium is “urgently advised” to quarantine for ten days upon arrival. Since I’m living in Ghent I’m not impacted and I’m still good to travel to The Netherlands if it wasn’t for the fact that the Dutch government is expecting five thousand new infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus every day by next week, and therefore, will implement stricter and more drastic restrictions. The new restrictions that will become effective tonight at 6:00 pm include that employees must be encouraged to work from home with the possibility of employers being held responsible if a cluster of coronavirus infections affects their workforce. An impacted business can be shut down for up to two weeks! In addition, bars and restaurants will be closed early and public gatherings are discouraged. I’m wondering how my Dutch friends will react now that their government has tightened some of Europe’s most relaxed coronavirus rules. Today’s picture is of the Dutch parliament and the skyline of The Hague – The Hague, The Netherlands

"Photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with how you see them."

    About Me

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
