3 April 2020 Update From A Locked Down Ghent

584 new patients have been admitted to hospital yesterday, bringing the total number to 5,376. At the moment, we have 2,393 beds on intensive care for coronavirus patients, of which 1,145 are still free. Whilst the Coronavirus crisis deepens, solidarity is blooming and spreading across communities. Small acts of kindness, compassion, solidarity are helping to spread hope through all of the country. There is a general understanding that we are all equally protected — or unprotected — against the disease that has already killed more than 1,000 people in Belgium alone.
