This blog is about life as it unfolds around me. What I’m seeing, hearing or reading is sometimes beautiful, surreal, ugly, paradoxical and complex. It’s a little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing but I hope it’s unique in its own right.

30 October 2020: Update on The Corona Pandemic – 5,924 patients are currently being treated with Covid in the Belgian hospitals.  The figure is the highest since the coronavirus reached our shores. Nearly half of all Belgium’s critical care beds – 2,000 in number - are now occupied. Healthcare professionals announced that they will soon have to choose who they treat and who they don’t. In light of these record-smashing figures that are sending our country into an “unprecedented tragedy” experts are urging government leaders to take the country back into lockdown. “If we don't want empty chairs at Christmas we need to stop now” said the head of the critical care unit of the university hospital of Brussels. The healthcare professionals are doing this ahead of a meeting on the coronavirus the government scheduled later today. Let’s hope that for once common sense will prevail and that appropriate actions will be implemented as soon as possible. Today’s picture of the promenade du Paillon in Nice is to commemorate the three people that died in a knife attack at a church in Nice, in what French President Emmanuel Macron said was an "Islamist terrorist attack". Let’s hope that we don’t see a resurgence of extremist and terrorist groups during the COVID-19 pandemic. There's only so much that anybody can handle at any one time. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy!

"Photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with how you see them."

    About Me

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
