Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte scrambled to calm a brewing storm over his new government's plans to scrap a dividend tax for companies, saying it was needed to retain and promote foreign investment. Rutte defended his government’s decision with a swipe at Belgium: "If we don’t scrap the tax then we will be following in the footsteps of Belgium. In the past there used to be a lot of multi-nationals there and now they have is just one international company left: AB InBev. The rest have left”. Seriously Mr. Rutte?
