Camera Rules at Falcon Circle, Abu Dhabi

I captured this urban composition at the Falcon Circle in Abu Dhabi, a roundabout located near the Presidential Palace and the luxurious Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental hotel, possibly the most expensive in town. While I was searching for the perfect composition, standing in the center of Falcon Circle, a guard from the Presidential Palace informed me that I should refrain from taking pictures with what he referred to as a 'professional camera.' It's worth noting that anything other than an iPhone seems to be labeled as a 'professional camera' in Abu Dhabi. Interestingly, this situation was similar to what I encountered in Dubai last year. I'm still trying to understand the reasoning behind this rule. If anyone has insights, please do share and enlighten me – Falcon Square, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
