Chasing the Midnight Sun in Abisko, Sweden

Abisko is located 250 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, making it a unique place to witness the phenomenon known as Arctic daytime, which begins in June. During this time, the sun never sets, even at midnight; instead, it hovers above the horizon, casting a striking red and yellow glow across the sky. Exploring the Nordic alpine terrain under this illuminated sky is a truly remarkable experience. Our midnight sun adventure began with a short walk leading to a chair-lift, which transported us to higher elevations, offering breathtaking mountain vistas along the way. The picture was taken from the chair-lift. Eventually, we reached the STF Aurora Sky Station, situated at an elevation of 900 meters. From there, a 2-kilometer hike led us to the summit, which stands at 1164 meters above sea level.
