Yesterday I received a copy of the new German National Geographic Travel Guide for Rome featuring my picture “Stairway From Heaven”. On display is a picture of the famous stairs in the Vatican Museum that I shot early June 2016. I’m a little ambiguous about it; at one hand I’m proud that my picture was selected by magazine famous for its superb photography, on the other hand I’m a little disappointed that they cropped my picture into a complete new composition. Above you’ll find the picture as printed in the travel guide. For those interested you’ll find the original composition under the tab “award winning pictures”.

About Me

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
