De Krook: An Architectural Gem We're Proud Of

During one of my frequent city walks I captured this vignette of 'De Krook' through an alley onto Lammerstraat. For those not familiar with Ghent, 'De Krook' is undoubtedly an architectural gem in the city. It houses the city's public library, and what a remarkable library it is! Thanks to its architectural design and functionality, it earned the prestigious title of 'Public Library of the Year' from IFLA in 2018. We occasionally visit this place, mainly to explore travel or photography books. Once inside, it's tempting to delve into newspapers and magazines. Every visit reminds us that we should frequent the library more, but, so far, our trips are limited to times when we truly need to look something up. – Ghent, Belgium.
