I captured this picture from my hotel room at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam just before going to bed last night. The sky was turning orange, which made me wonder if the smoke from the devastating wildfires in Canada had reached The Netherlands. Recently, I came across an article about CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service), where the journalist explained that smoke can travel long distances at higher altitudes, allowing air pollutants to linger for extended periods. This often results in hazy skies and red/orange sunsets. However, the article also reassured readers that the expected smoke transport is unlikely to have a significant impact on surface air quality. So, instead of worrying, I decided to simply enjoy the captivating scene - Okura Hotel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
