The Lac d’Emosson (1930 m) is a reservoir that was created at the beginning of the 1920s by the construction of a 78 m-high gravity dam built by the SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) with the aim of covering the company’s power requirements. The Lac d’ Émosson is the starting point of a network of superb hiking trails and mountain routes – Salvan, Valais, Switzerland
