In Africa, hippos, of all large animals, are the biggest killers of humans – far more so than lions. Therefore, the deadliest place in Africa is between the hippo and the water. If the hippos want to get to the water – especially if they’ve got babies – they won’t take any prisoners; they’ll just come straight for you. And they can run. Hippos are relatives of the horse so they can run as fast as horses, it’s incredible – Sanbona Wild Park, South Africa

I just like to take pictures, I just push the button. I never worked in the darkroom, I never studied photography or journalism; I’m just a passionate photographer.

For a long time I used to take pictures - like so many of us - to capture memories of family holidays and events. Over time I’ve found that experiences are deepened and one notices things more intensely by thinking visually. I came to enjoy the quality of light, amazing reflections, geometrical forms and colours. Ever since, I have been determined to take my skills to the next level. I also want to share my work with a much larger audience, because I truly believe that the only way to keep feeding one’s inspiration, creativity, and ultimately getting better at what one is passionate about, is to invite others to critique my work.
