Hungary's Iconic yet Oversized Parliament in bright daylight

Yesterday, I shared a photo of the Hungarian Parliament Building taken at night. Today, I'm posting a similar photo captured in bright sunlight. I must say that although they are entirely different, both images are equally captivating to me. This architectural masterpiece, built between 1885 and 1904, represents Budapest's architectural style from that era, blending Neo-Gothic and Neo-Classical influences. The Parliament Building is renowned for its Neo-Gothic features, including pointed arches, intricate detailing, and elements of Neo-Renaissance design. I'm always intrigued by the contrasts this magnificent building presents. While it serves as a powerful symbol of Budapest's historical grandeur, I can't help but reflect on the irony of its immense size in the context of Hungary's population, which is just under 10 million. Moreover, considering the recent democratic challenges under the leadership of Viktor Orbán, I believe that a building that should stand as a symbol of democracy appears somewhat oversized – Budapest, Hungary.
