Island Thunder: A Stormy Night in the Maldives

As we were walking to the restaurant the other night, we noticed a storm brewing on the horizon. Thick clouds were rolling in, and we could hear the distant rumble of thunder. We were in the Maldives, and since it's an equatorial region, it's no surprise that thunderstorms are quite common here. As the storm approached, the sky darkened, and the air became charged with electricity. Lightning was flashing in the distance, and before we knew it, the storm was upon us. We were enjoying our dinner when heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning crashed the party. Our waiter told us that thunderstorms are a regular thing here, especially during the monsoon season, which starts at the end of April.
