Journey to Trollsjön: Captivating Landscapes of The Abisko National Park, Sweden

We embarked on an unforgettable journey to Trollsjön, a breathtaking mountain lake near Abisko National Park. Situated at an elevation of 815 meters above sea level, the lake mesmerized us with its stunning blue-green hue and serene surroundings. Setting off from the E10 parking lot, we delved into the "wilderness", equipped with a map and a sense of adventure. Along the trail, we were treated to captivating vistas as we meandered through a picturesque birch forest. Conquering a challenging steep climb, we were rewarded with a panorama that unveiled the beauty of the Kärkevagge valley. The valley showcased magnificent rock formations, remnants of the ancient inland ice, scattered throughout its landscape. As we trekked, we encountered small streams gushing with crystal-clear, cold mountain water. Finally, we arrived at the hidden gem of Trollsjön, also known as Rissájávri. As we later did some further reading about the hike, we learned that the lake is renowned as Sweden's clearest body of water with a visibility depth of 36 meters. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surroundings, and found a great spot to sit down and have our packed lunches. We took our time to enjoy the meal while surrounded by the beauty of nature – Trollsjön, Abisko National Park, Sweden.
