Paradise with a Catch: Our Experience in the Maldives

The Maldives is often regarded as a dream vacation spot with its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, stunning underwater world, and luxurious amenities away from the chaos of civilization in the middle of the Indian Ocean. However, there is a downside to this idyllic picture: during our last stay, the temperatures hovered around 33 degrees both day and night, and the high humidity and UV index made it feel much hotter, sometimes exceeding 41 degrees. As a result, we found ourselves seeking refuge from the heat during the hottest parts of the day, spending more time indoors than we had planned.
