Fashion Meets Art: Immersing in the Timeless Works of Peter Lindbergh whilst also enjoying bird’s eye views from the city center at Espace Vanderborght, Brussels

When it comes to fashion photography, Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh, are two of the most prominent names that come to mind. Although I'm more interested in documentary, travel, and street photography, I visited the Helmut Newton Legacy exhibition in Knokke-Heist last year and was impressed enough to want to explore more. Last week, I had the opportunity to attend Peter Lindbergh's Untold Stories exhibition in Brussels, which pays tribute to his life and work. Lindbergh curated the selection of photographs himself shortly before his untimely death in September 2019, mixing images from different decades to create new interpretations and associations. Known for his black and white images with minimal makeup or retouching, Lindbergh aimed to free women from the terror of youth and perfection. I can't decide what I like most Lindbergh's natural, candid black and white portraits or Newton's flawlessly constructed images. In addition to the photos, the Espace Vanderborght offers a bonus with its five-story height and stunning views. You get a bird's eye view of the hustle and bustle on Rue de l'Ecuyer, the beautiful Royal Gallery Sint Hubert, and the majestic Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula – Espace Vanderborght, Brussels, Belgium
