St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna's Iconic Symbol, Illuminated in Serene Beauty

During our recent 24-hour visit to Vienna, I made it a priority to capture the iconic symbol of the city: St. Stephen's Cathedral, also known as Stephansdom. As I discovered, the best time to get a decent picture of the cathedral is early morning because during the day, the Stephansplatz and the adjacent Graben area can get immensely crowded, with people bustling about. To avoid this, I set out early and was rewarded not only with a peaceful setting but also with the beautiful lit cathedral and surroundings that contrasted well with the blue morning sky. In case you're not familiar with the Stephansdom, it is a magnificent Gothic-style cathedral that dominates Vienna's skyline. Its most prominent features include a tall spire, a vibrant multi-colored tile roof, and intricate exterior details. Construction on the cathedral began in the 12th century and has seen various expansions and renovations over the centuries. The Stephansdom attracts millions of visitors each year and althought there are many iconic buildings in Vienna and surrounding the Dom is the first visual coming up in my mind when picturing Vienna in my mind – Stephansdom, Vienna, Austria
