The Enchanting Durbar Square of Bhaktapur: A Treasure of Nepalese Art and Culture

Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur are three incredible cities located in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. The original inhabitants of the valley were the Newar people. According to legend, the three kingdoms were once ruled by a single king named Ratna Malla, who divided his kingdom into three parts and gave one to each of his sons. These separate kingdoms were later united under the rule of the Shah dynasty in the 18th century.
Kathmandu is home to many stunning temples and palaces, while Patan is renowned for its metalwork and woodcarvings. Bhaktapur is famous for its pottery and traditional crafts, and in my opinion, it has the most beautiful Durbar Square (Palace Square) among the three cities.
