The Palace of Westminster, where the Houses of Parliament are located in London, is one of the most famous buildings in the world. But the place is in serious trouble because it's more than 150 years old and has been neglected for a long time. There are many problems with the structure and systems inside the building, like old wiring, plumbing, and heating, which could be dangerous. Water damage has also caused parts of the building to decay and be unsafe for visitors. People are worried about the state of the Palace of Westminster and want something to be done quickly to fix it up and keep it as the home of British democracy. The Restoration and Renewal Program will try to address all these issues, but it's going to be a massive and costly job that could take a decade or more to finish.
